Developing News Clocks has made me much more aware of time.
We all talk about time, even if we don’t realize it. We use the language of time in everyday speech, maybe more than we know. That’s because time is very important to us. We say we save time, or we make time, or we manage time. With a little extra effort, maybe it’s quality time! But sometimes we don’t treat time very well at all. We lose time, we waste time, and occasionally we even kill time! Imagine that, killing time! What did time ever do to you? It just ticks away quietly. Well, it ages you. Nobody likes that.
Once upon a time, I had all the time in the world. These days, I’m pressed for time. Half the time I don’t even have time to spare. Sometimes, I have time on my hands, and I find myself just passing the time.
It’s probably a sign of the times that no one takes the time to stop and smell the roses, not even during lunch time. Economically speaking, we live in desperate times, and after all, time is money. But there’s a time and place for everything. Time is short, and there’s no time like the present to have a good time, since we’re all living on borrowed time. It’s only a matter of time before you’re an oldtimer, and the fun times are all time out of mind. You’ll really wish you had a time machine that could turn back time, but you’d probably create a time warp and tear apart spacetime! So don’t count on timeworn time travel fantasies. Now is the time to take a time out and start living life one day at a time. Be timely and do it now before your time is up. And remember that timeless proverb, time and tide wait for no man. It’s something to think about from time to time.
I have to go now. I’m out of time.
